Our Guide By Your Side program has 2 main services. Parent to Parent Support and Deaf/Hard of Hearing Guide Support. Research shows that families learn more from other families as well as learning from deaf/hard of hearing adults than trying to do it all alone. Illinois is in the process of bring an ASTra Advocacy program to our state. We will have 3 advocates on hand to support families through their child's educational programming. Our chapter Executive Director is an advocate through the IL School for the Deaf Outreach Department and will be leading our ASTra advocates.
