Institute for Parents of Children who are Deaf or Hard of Haring

Institute for Parents of Preschool Children Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is a FREE, two-week virtual program providing support and information for families of children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing.

 

The Institute for Parents of Preschool Children Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing will have a new format for 2021.

This year’s event will be a two-week virtual program for parents of children ages 7 and under who have a significant hearing loss.

 

It will take place via Zoom from June 7-18.

Participating parents and caregivers will attend daily lectures by experts in the field to learn about raising a child who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.  Lecture topics include:

•  Child development

•  Types of hearing loss

•  Language development

•  Communication choices

•  Hearing aids and cochlear implants

•  Deaf culture

•  Language development

•  Parent rights

•  School programming

There is no cost for families to participate.

​

IPads will also be available to check out at no cost for families without the right technology to participate from home.
